Lorenzo.D Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 For ccip with rockets guns and mk82 or mk82 se i must use tas + rs? For mk82 i must use istant o retard? Thanks. Inviato dal mio ASUS_Z00LD utilizzando Tapatalk
nomdeplume Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Not entirely sure what you're asking. The M-2000C selects CCIP or CCRP delivery based on the store, it is not something the pilot can select. Selecting low-drag bombs will enable CCRP symbology. Selecting high-drag bombs (clusters and Mk-82SE) will enable CCIP symbology. Direct-attack weapons (rockets, guns) are also delivered using a CCIP-like pipper. Your most common choice for air-to-ground attacks will be using TAS + RS (with RS just providing a fallback in case TAS is for some reason unable to provide the needed information for a solution). I don't think TAS is functioning entirely correctly yet, so you might have more luck with just RS in some situations at present. For the fuse options, it probably doesn't really matter. If you use the delayed fuse the game just seems to have the bomb land and then explode a second or two later. It's unclear if it actually does more/different damage as a result. It might be of some use in very low-level deliveries to allow you to get further away before it explodes.
jojo Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 (edited) Fuze delay IRL is mainly used to manage damage effect. Tail fuze (RET on M-2000 PPA) being used essentially to make the bomb explode inside a building after going through the roof/ top floor. Nose fuze (INST) is used to attack targets in the open (troops, vehicle...) Usually this setting is in milli-second, not one or two seconds but that's on ED side... In low level delay to clear the area is provided by the high drag system (Snake Eye or drague chute). I think the most likely setting would be INST. Attacking a building with RET setting would be less likely, the bomb would have less kinetic energy to go through the building. Off course "building" is a generic word on my description. It's mainly true for hardened construction like "bunker". An individual house would take a serious blast by either of these settings. But if you want to do it right, now you have a cue. In DCS make sure the PPA isn't on "INERT", or no fuze will be armed (it's rather for jettison). Edited October 5, 2016 by jojo Mirage fanatic ! Frederf Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 I was wondering what in the world fuze has a 2-3 second action delay like we see in DCS Mirage today. You don't have to select TAS and/or RS but you want to. They are methods for introducing distances into the calculation using various sensors. Generally the radar is the most accurate (TAS), RS middle, and none selected the least.
Lorenzo.D Posted October 6, 2016 Author Posted October 6, 2016 Tas + rs la better than only tas or only rs? Thanks to all Inviato dal mio ASUS_Z00LD utilizzando Tapatalk
Zeus67 Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Tas + rs la better than only tas or only rs? Thanks to all Inviato dal mio ASUS_Z00LD utilizzando Tapatalk The system only uses one method: TAS or RS. When you select both TAS and RS the system will use TAS but if for any reason the radar is not working, it will use the radalt (RS) as a backup. Chrinik Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 what is TAS and RS? TAS is Radar Slant Range, RS uses the Radar Altimeter (if it´s on) and your pitch angle to give you a range to target...the latter obviously has issues on uneven terrain.
