You aim them perfectly

And then they do their arc trajectory and miss overflying their target

Im very annoyed by this, makes them pretty unusable. Whats going on? Is it a game bug or it is intended and if so why?

The pipper gets affected by a fisheye effect. When ground stabilising the pipper on the target make sure the pipper is dead centre of the ASP glass before locking.

You will notice after stabilising the pipper, when you move your nose around so as the pipper shows at different positions on the ASP the pipper will no longer appear over the target. This is false info the only true pipper position is when the pipper is displayed exactly central on the glass.

Hmm this is important information. I slew the piper pretty randomly before locking and thats why i actually locked at a wrong position maybe.. ill need to test it when i get home.

How do i know the pipper is around the center of ASP glass? I guess default pipper position before slewing it should be the center. and if you want to slew a locked pipper you should qalso do it around the cental position to avoid fisheye effects.

Sorry buddy, ignore what I said it seems the fisheye effect has been fixed. I guess it's just a matter of practice. ;)

You have to ignore structures etc. and concentrate on ground position, wherever your pipper is, be it at the point of the highest building, the pipper will see through that to a point on the ground behind the building. The missile flies down on to the target so it won't fly through the building. Poor modelling yes.

Agree. Previously, as it flew in a straight line, it would have hit a building. Now, it won't. Because buildings are invisible. To AI and missiles...
