LatLong CDU Input Problem

I’ve opened up the map while in Multiplayer mission, DCS 1.5.5, A-10C, spotted targets, clicked on a target to get the LL coordinates. Went into CDU waypoint Page with AAP Dial set to “Other”, entered Elevation (good), Entered North Coordinates (good), but when I entered the East Coordinates, I always get a CDU input error? I found that if I put a ZERO right after E, it takes it, after I set the waypoint slot and name the target area, the wedding cake is in the ocean somewhere else?

 

I’ve also typed in the numbers just as they show and I have also tried dividing the last 2 coordinate digits and divided by 60 and plugged those last 3 rounded off digits in.

 

Why do I have to make the 1st # after I enter E a ZERO for the Easterly direction? and how did I wind up in the ocean for land targets?

 

Broad question to start with, most of the tutorials on Youtube are for JTAC and UTM inputs.

The reason for leading zero is because E/W coordinates can reach 180º whereas N/S can on reach 90º. So to keep the format standard E/W needs always three digits;

Tblisi-Lochini E044º

 

Your coordinates for easting is 037º 35' 20" in degree/minutes/seconds that would be 037º 35.333 in lat/long decimals. The easiest way to get the calculation right is to set you ME map for Lat Long Decimal. It's in the Options - Mics menu
