Redglyph Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Hello, DCS version 1.5.5.59744.197 I'm following two aircraft, same level, I'm about 3-4 nm and they're at my 12. If my radar was already switched on (EM), nothing appears on it. If I switch it off, then on PCH for 1-2 seconds, then on EM, I see the contacts for 15", after which they disappear again. I can repeat that as many times as I wish, it's pretty consistent. Is that normal behaviour? Perhaps I missed something, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't behaving like that earlier. How can I keep those contacts permanently? The radar is set as follows, though I've tried different settings: - med PRF - 4 bars - 60° sweep - 5 nm range System specs: Win7 x64 | CPU: i7-4770K | RAM: 16 GB | GPU: GTX 980 Ti 6 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS | MFG rudder pedals | SATA3 SSD | TrackIR
Redglyph Posted December 3, 2016 Author Posted December 3, 2016 I did, and since the targets are visible after cycling PCH/EM I don't think it's a matter of not getting the echo. They just disappear after 15". It's apparently the same in DCS 2, perhaps it's on purpose, I have no idea. Another annoying thing is the TDC cursor, it doesn't seem possible to limit its speed, and it's frankly too fast to use for me. It seems all-or-nothing despite being mapped on an analogue device. red_coreSix Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Are you at low altitude and same speed as the targets you're following? If so then this is a somewhat accurate representation of side-lobe clutter that can appear in this situation. Somewhat because I don't know how the RDI filters side-lobe clutter, but it is a problem in the N019/N001.
Redglyph Posted December 3, 2016 Author Posted December 3, 2016 It's not at low altitude, the same is happening at 20k or 5k. System specs: Win7 x64 | CPU: i7-4770K | RAM: 16 GB | GPU: GTX 980 Ti 6 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS | MFG rudder pedals | SATA3 SSD | TrackIR
viperdogsnake Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Try the different radar settings aka ENT or whatever the bottom switch is on that button. on
Redglyph Posted December 3, 2016 Author Posted December 3, 2016  It seems that since I've mapped the slew TDC controls, this problem disappeared. Ah well. System specs: Win7 x64 | CPU: i7-4770K | RAM: 16 GB | GPU: GTX 980 Ti 6 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS | MFG rudder pedals | SATA3 SSD | TrackIR
