well i made my way along with many thousand others via train to the airshow.....

i took along my son, my good mate and his kids too.

a good day was had by all, it was great to see the old mustang zooming around. nearly as good as pacific fighters.:)

watching the jets was great, first time i had seen them close up in RL.

the models were pretty life like, nearly on par with those in black shark :)

to my dissappointment the F-15's were nowhere to be found :(

i went to where i thought they should be and checked my map, re-checked my map and then checked it again, yep they should be right here i said to myself, oh well no eagles. (kind of was my main reason for going, doh)

will sort thru my pics and post a few good ones in the near future.

some cool aerobatics, seahawk and blackhawk displays, roulettes, the big C-17 etc along with the F-111's and the hornets and many others,

even ran into an old friend, what a top day.

I attended the Saturday. It was great and now the only downer is they only hold them every decade or 2 haha.. almost.

I too was dissapointed that the eagles never arrived, nor the KC-135. Speaking to a mate on the Hawk display, and he said that as far as he knew there was some bad weather and that they couldn't get out when they were meant too. He said that they were gonna fly together and thats why neither came. Also i was a bit upset that the spitfire never went up on my day cos of some tech problems.

Aside from that my favourite part was the hornets for sure with the conditions being just right for alot of ekto flowing of those wings when they pulled g over our heads. And the mirrored 'aerial ballet' display from the navy squirrels was sweet. Also couldn't believe that the c17 can fit 3 littlebirds and 2 blackhawks in that hold all at once...amazing.

Too bad that roulette 1 recently snapped his leg in a moto accident and once again i missed the full routine due to them being incapable of it on the day (last time i was meant to watch the full routine they crashed one of the aircraft 2 or so days b4..). they have still got alot to do till they impress me. even the four ship hornet display blew them away.

I really enjoyed the day. I was in the car-park as the F111 came past with the dump'n burn I could feel the heat. The noise was visceral. I also liked the simulated Hornet strike - they were everywhere zipping here and there they just looked so angry as they dived in. I'd hate to be the enemy.

I'd love to a have a go in a Hawk. It just looks like fun to fly with great visibility and looks really agile and quick.

F111 is still the ducks guts though....
