retired_old_sarge Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 I am new just got my Warthog HOTAS controllers. I am not sure what needs to be set on it for the F-86. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Also being a newbie I do have trackir and would like to have advice/detailed information on how to install the HOTAS profile. Is it just copy paste into a file etc.... and if so exactly what file do I put it in. Thank You.. I also purchased the A-10C and FC3. I am looking forward to learning and flying. Like I say I am a newbie and need whatever help you can give me. I know the Warthog comes already set for use ion the A-10C but that is another learning curve for me.. Thank You , .. I dont know if I am allowed to put my regular e mail here or not?? It is my user name.. retired_old_sarge at yahoo.com .... if anyone can help me.. Thank You Very Much
RAZBAM_ELMO Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Best advice is learn to fly the plane. Then as you go along you will find what controls you most reach for and can map them in game accordingly. Everyone is different and some mappings may work for some and not for others. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass. — Dave 'Preacher' Pace, USN.

For TrackIR make sure to program Center, Pause, and Precision buttons. Precision is overlooked but really smooths the movement. I am using the communications hat in my profile for this. To use the TARGET profile, drop it in your TM TARGET folder. I've moved mine to my Saved Games folder, but I believe that the default is Documents\TM TARGET or something similar. Run the TARGET GUI and if you don't see it in the list of GUI Configurations -> Custom, click the Edit Configuration button top center. Then navigate to the folder where you put my profile, open it, save it, and now it will be under GUI Configurations. Click on top of it and then click Run. Good luck. TomOnSteam Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 When I start with a new plane I like to wipe out all of the default controls that the sim has put in, and only map the 4 axis you need for flying(pitch, bank, yaw[rudder], throttle), and buttons for flaps, air brakes and wheel brakes. I also wrote this guide to help out people with mapping their controls: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=324154615 Happy Flyings! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cockpit Spectator Mode

Yeah, that's a big step and one that I forgot to mention. Thanks Tom.
