Menessis Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 What's the trick to saving a profile? Menessis
firmek Posted January 2, 2017 Posted January 2, 2017 The trick is that there is no trick :). Just create a new profile or copy an existing one, modify it and save - the icon looks like a floppy disk. F/A-18, F-16, F-14, M-2000C, A-10C, AV-8B, AJS-37 Viggen, F-5E-3, F-86F, MiG-21bis, MiG-15bis, L-39 Albatros, C-101 Aviojet, P-51D, Spitfire LF Mk. IX, Bf 109 4-K, UH-1H, Mi-8, Ka-50, NTTR, Normandy, Persian Gulf... and not enough time to fully enjoy it all
Menessis Posted January 2, 2017 Author Posted January 2, 2017 (edited) Hi firmek.....That's what I do, but next time it is as though I did nothing????? I know of others who have this same problem. After some experimenting I noticed that one profile that is in the folder isn't in the drop down box. And a profile in the drop down box is not in the folder. So some how the file name in the folder and the profile name in the drop down don't jive. I assume this a TIR feature I am not aware of. The profile was sent to me by a friend. I did tweak another profile and save it. Checked the time stamp on the file and it does save it. I can open and close TIR and all is well. :) Menessis Edited January 2, 2017 by Menessis

If trackir is installed in any directory and is not run with admin privileges or has no read/write privileges to its own directories, windows will make it save the profiles to a virtual store directory that it can read and write to, ie: "c:\Users\Ian\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5\Profiles" Secondly naming of the profiles themselves, the filename is not the name that the profile uses, the name that shows up in the trackir profile list is actually recorded and stored in the *.xml file itself, so if at any stage the profiles filename is changed, in trackir it self will still show its original name in the profile list. My trackIR software is installed here "d:\Games\TrackIR5" with a profile folder, but all profiles are saved to a virtual store by windows to:"c:\Users\Ian\AppData\Roaming\NaturalPoint\TrackIR 5\Profiles" What is a virtual store ??? http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/222389-what-virtual-store-folder.html Regards, Ian Asus p877v-pro, Intel I7 3770k 4.2ghz, 32gb Ripjaw X ram, Nvidia RTX-2070 Super, Samsung 32" TV, Saitek x52 pro Joystick and Combat rudder pedals, TrackIR 5, Win8.1 x64 with SSD and SSHD protected by (Avast AV).
