IDFPilot Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Hi guys. I want to move few controls, that I use a lot, from Helios to real physical panels. After few hours of search I have found the following web-site: http://pcflights.com/ And I am interested specifically in the following two items: A-10C UFC http://pcflights.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=47_62_65&products_id=340 A-10C CDU http://pcflights.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=47_62_64&products_id=358 They look nice for my taste and the price is actually lower, than what I would get if I would order CNC my self. But, those id..s on the PC Flights web site didn't post any image of the panels from the back side :) and they didn't answer my requests. Does anyone here has those panels? Please show me the back side. Also, regarding CDU, can anybody link me to the project of CDU compatible with DCS? I am interesting in electronics only. Mechanic part is clear to me ;) Regards
Brewnix Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 I think technically this was just a recent pop up for panels for sale it was just posted about a month or 2 ago. I can't remember which part of the forum it was in, Homecockpits or InputOutput. I was trying to look for the post to show you but have not found it. It didn't get alot of traffic. But I saved the links when it was posted, the poster also posted his own web site with the products that are for sale. Linked to PCflights. This was the person I believe that made the panels. https://jager1726.jimdo.com/ Which is funny cause I went to his sight right after it was posted to inquire about if he had plans of developing per spec size A10C MFD's bezels with buttons and got not response. Just FYI there is another panel maker far away from me, not real sure where but I found they had MFD bezels with buttons ready to backlit for sale. There shipping is expensive to me but I am trying it out so I ordered a set... http://hispapanels.com/tienda/en/ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
RAZBAM_ELMO Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Well let us know the outcome. I would be up for grabbing a CDU for sure but I'm not familiar with how to mount a plate for the buttons and have it in one neat little package. Does anyone else have instructions on how to build the button panel and mount it to the fascia? Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass. — Dave 'Preacher' Pace, USN.
IDFPilot Posted January 10, 2017 Author Posted January 10, 2017 (edited) I am still gathering the info. I want to add UFC, CDU and Caution lights panels to my build. My build btw (https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=169678) For each panel I found three implementation options in regards of mechanics (panels, buttons) and three options to implement the electronics. Mechanics (CDU for example): 1 - http://pcflights.com/images/panels/a-10c_thunderbolt_cdu_panel.jpg 2 - http://hispapanels.com/tienda/en/right-console-a-10/592-a-10-fmc.html 3 - order it from a good person in Russia :) http://www.letiaga.ru/ https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=143234 Today I am waiting to get a price quote from the third option. The third option comes with electronics built in already. Except for CDU display. If we speak about electronics, you have at least three options too: 1 - Adruino 2 - Rasberry Pi OR Raspberry Pi+Adruino 3 - F3 controler from http://www.letiaga.ru/ 3rd option doesn't provide an option to handle CDU display, but in terms of buttons and led indicators is the easiest, almost no coding is required. To your question... "Does anyone else have instructions on how to build the button panel and mount it to the fascia?" Actually it is simple, no options here. You have to have some base plate, connect 6mm buttons to it, and place the panel below the front panel with pretty buttons. Example https://lerxster.wordpress.com/ Then.... how do you wire it all. PS: wtf those sites are thinking about... Both http://pcflights.com/ and http://hispapanels.com/ don't have dimensions and back side images for their products. WTF, how can I plan something without this info ... Edited January 10, 2017 by IDFPilot
Brewnix Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 (edited) How about this place PS tools. Have you looked at this stuff. http://psfalcon.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html I know there was a Thread a bit ago about it, maybe can buy PCB parts. Maybe this is a options. I don't know anything about them other then the Post i saw. EDIT= Here it is https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=178514 When I get my MFD's I plan to try to use a Promicro board with shift registers and MMJoy for the USB controller program. Its great free Program for programming USB, I have no idea how to write code so the Arduino is on the self for now and MMjoy is a easy learning process and there is alot of help on forums. IDFPilot Posted January 11, 2017 Author Posted January 11, 2017 Well, the all-ready PCB looks great, but... how can I know that it will fit the panels from let's say pcflights? They don't publish dimensions schema. And electronic buttons should be exactly below the mechanic ones.
Deadman Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 (edited) IDFPilot I don't own any of the Pc flights panels Designed in partnership with Chris Sanders AKA "Jager" They appear to be referencing the poster lay out originally drawn by http://www.SalomonComputers.es https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/340526/ they have many of the same spelling font and size or proportion mistakes I would not hesitate to say this is a scientific wild ass guess on some sizes. but I do have a large collection of the real A-10 control panels I would guarantee that the PCB from PS tools wont fit. Have to run to the second job Edited January 12, 2017 by Deadman https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
