Guard
A 24bit 2048X2048 skin has a size of 12mb, I wonder whether using such huge files will hurt FPS?
Stealth_HR
In my case it hurt the FPS and degraded my quality because my graphics card can't properly handle textures as large as 2048^2 - I'd get dropped polygons. However, I manually resized the images to 1024^2, retained a still-high level of detail (using smart resize in PaintShopPro), and I didn't get any problems. Of course, your mileage may vary, but generally, the more detailed the texture, the bigger the memory usage - and the bigger the FPS hit. HTH. SuperKungFu
yea having 2048x2048 skins will lag pretty bad if u don't have a decent rig. That's why i shrank it down to 1024x1024, you can't even tell the difference unless you are playing on one huge ass screen with high res. So mind as well save the fps. Guard
thx for reply. My computer is not very powerful, so I think 1024X1024 is the way to go.

As I suggested, youmight want to try resizing the skins yourself and moving them to \Bazar\TempTextures manually. I run most of my skins that way and everything works flawlessly.
