frenzon Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Had been looking at building a modular controller so I could have something resuable for different jets, then came across this modular MIDI controller on Kickstarter. Any thoughts? Can we use/remap MIDI controls to inputs in DCS?
Brewnix Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Had been looking at building a modular controller so I could have something resuable for different jets, then came across this modular MIDI controller on Kickstarter. Any thoughts? Can we use/remap MIDI controls to inputs in DCS? Interesting idea. Those might be standard parts there using pots, slide pots, encoders. They have just made them in to removable modules. I know that there different pots that are better for volume control then a standard 10k ohm pots. The key is how the OS sees the device and can other software see and use it. I guess a open usb controller. I would imagine you would have to ask them that. Or wait till you get your hands on one and experiment, load DCS and see if it see's the device. Personally I would think they are going to make proprietary. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Thermal Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 FreePIE can convert MIDI to a virtual joystick (apparently). There seem to be a heap of cool looking cheap midi controllers that you could do like that. (This one seems pretty expensive). There is is also this: https://palettegear.com/index
TheBamse Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 one of the classics is this one; https://us.novationmusic.com/launch/launchpad-mini But as said you will need a midi-to-key/joy mapping software. Not many programs outside of DAWs will handle raw midi input.
