Rb-04E and "GRUPP" mode

I have searched around and found nothing about the problem I am having so I am assuming its user error and not a bug. When I go to launch the Rb-o4e in GRUPP/group mode they never track anything or explode. I can get them to work in single mode but not group. In the manual it says the ships need to be within 2700 meters in depth axis of each other. Which I understand as if I have one ship in-front of me and then I have one within 2700 meters behind I would be with in the envelope of the group mode. But that doesn't seem to work and I have tried all combinations I can think off to launch them i.e nav/anf and combat waypoint/normal I have had no success. Any helps/tips would be appreciated.:)

(edit: this is wrong)

An Rb-04 in GRUPP mode will discriminate against any single or small group of targets, as these could be escort ships. The missile was designed to take on large numbers of landing ships in an invasion fleet. Renhanxue and others on this forum have posted more detailed descriptions of what the radar's looking for, but in brief, you won't find those kinds of numbers outside of enormous formations in invasion-type scenarios. For all your every day scenarios, you need "ENKEL".

The manual isn't well written with regards to this. I assume you didn't try a bunch (5-10x) of targets within a small area, but that you were trying with 2x enemies?

I set up a 30 ships convoy, all tankers, with ships about 1km apart. Using group mode (default settings in mission editor), both missiles launched simultaneously hit their targets.

btw, this brings me back to my Silent Hunter III days :)

That sounds like it should work, but I get the impression that the "row selector" isn't implemented and instead it'll try to choose one of three ships in a line randomly. In reality only two ships are needed and you can choose row 1, 2, or 3 (on the ground), but this does not seem to be the case in DCS - you need three and it'll choose randomly.

I unfortunately cannot fly myself in the close future so I can't test it myself, but that's the impression I have from the experiences of others.
