blast Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Hi everyone, I'm experiencing some issues with the heading indications. As you can see in the images in the links below the mirage is on the parking with engines ON the "INS alignment and drift" option is untick in the editor mission, but there is ~ 5 degrees differences between the heading HUD indicator (http://hpics.li/97a0e6d) and the heading in game indicator (http://hpics.li/675b8a2). The HUD and compass indications (http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=927603compass.png) are exactly the same. Is not normal ? Ty
Azrayen Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Hi. Magnetic declination? 6° is correct for Caucasus.
blast Posted February 15, 2017 Author Posted February 15, 2017 Hi. Magnetic declination? 6° is correct for Caucasus. The INS doesn't correct it?
jojo Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 The INS doesn't correct it? You have to choose on HSI: Cv = True Cm = Magnetic You still need Cm because runway QFU are magnetic heading for instance. Mirage fanatic ! Tumbleweed1606688689 Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 The INS doesn't correct it? Hi. That's normal, all headings are magnetic in the plane but the F2 view give the true heading. You can set the true heading if you want. Just put your HSI on Cv (Cap Vrai).
Tumbleweed1606688689 Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 You have to choose on HSI: Cv = True Cm = Magnetic You still need Cm because runway QFU are magnetic heading for instance. Oops, too slow :smilewink:
Azrayen Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 The INS doesn't correct it? It does more than that. In fact it's the other way around. "Default" heading for the INS is by geographic north. Using the DEC (declination) value it calculates the heading by magnetic north.
