Johnny Dioxin Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Spent the whole evening practising my dumb bombing with the Tiger. Didn't hit once! Came frustratingly close a few times, but the bunker survived with just a couple of scratches (see attached screenshots - black marks denote impact points). This is why I prefer aircraft such as the F-5E and Su-25 over stuff like the A-10C, and won't be getting the A/F-18. In either of those, it would have been a surgical strike, first-pass hit from so high you can't even see the target with the naked eye. This way it's fun - even when you miss! It's even more fun when you are trying not to get shot down at the same time - that's why I like SF2 so much, with the '60's and '70's strike aircraft and manual bombing. I'll be up again tomorrow - and I hope this time I manage to actually hit that durned bunker. I did have the parameters almost spot-on, but that 'almost' just gives a miss by a few feet every time. This in VR, of course, which makes the experience more than it can ever be in SF2 :) Rig: Asus TUF GAMING B650-PLUS; Ryzen 7800X3D ; 64GB DDR5 5600; RTX 4080; VPC T50 CM2 HOTAS; Pimax Crystal Light I'm learning to fly - but I ain't got wings With my head in VR - it's the next best thing!
Erk104 Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 For Basic MK-82 (Not the Snake Eyes) Try using a depression angle of 35 with a Dive angle of 30 speed at 400 and release altitude of 2000 feet. If you want to try 45 at 20 degree dive angle at 400 and release at 2000 also works However the higher the dive angle the greater the hit probability. :pilotfly:

Yes you have CCIP/CCRP bombing assistance for the HUD, but still dropping unguided muntions. IT depends on how well protecte the targets tbh, IF you have loads of SA6's plus even Sa8s or even S300/Sa10s then RIP you might as well not bother trying to strike the target manually. you also have to remember than back in the 60s and 70s the common SAM was the Sa2, and part from that air defenses only included unguided AAA like 57mm flak, 37mm towd guns or 23mmm Zsu's at most. This was the bombing tutorial mission and I had been releasing at the 3,200ft recommended - not sure of teh release speed, as I was watching the reticule and altimeter! But the starting speed was the 350 KIAS recommended and I dropped the throttle to idle and rolled in from 6,700ft, with a 20° dive angle and starting with the reticule two radii below the target - just as they tell us to. Be great if I get a hit using the figures you mention - then I can apply it in future :) Edited February 24, 2017 by Brixmis Rig: Asus TUF GAMING B650-PLUS; Ryzen 7800X3D ; 64GB DDR5 5600; RTX 4080; VPC T50 CM2 HOTAS; Pimax Crystal Light I'm learning to fly - but I ain't got wings With my head in VR - it's the next best thing!
