"DCS-Control Reference BIOS Live Preview" has a problem in a version of Chrome 57.0.2

"DCS-Control Reference BIOS Live Preview" has a problem with the latest version of Chrome 57.0.2987.98 (64-bit).

The extension does not turn on.

Thanks for the report, I can reproduce this after nudging my Chrome to update to version 57. Unfortunately, so far none of the logs I checked show any kind of error message, so this might take a while to find and fix.

Looks like the function I used to open the app in a new tab was removed in Chrome 57. I changed it to open in a new window instead and released it as DCS-BIOS v0.5.2.

 

While browsing the docs, I also noticed that Google will remove Chrome apps from the desktop browser next year. Their migration guide includes this passage:

Q: My app uses the chrome sockets API to do networking. Can this be done with the open web?

You might be able to do what you need with WebSockets. However, to use this, you will likely need to change the remote end of your connection. If that isn’t possible (e.g. you’re connecting over an established protocol like IRC or SSH), you’ll need some sort of native component.

 

Looks like I'll have to finish the first version of DCS-BIOS 2.0 before 2018 :)

I have the same problem since a update for Vivaldi (Browser based on Chrome) 2.0.1309.42

tryed also the last chrome browser. latest Java version (191)

nothing shows up.

 

can someone confirm this?
