Neon67 Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Hi guys I am slowly learning the Viggen So far it seems for me that the success of a good bombing run is to do a good pre plan phase with stored waypoint or target points directly on the targets. Yet what about a vehicule convoy , or target that are way off any other reference you stored in your datacard. Is it possible to turn what you see in your radar as an existing or new waypoint ? The only thing I found is navigation fixes, but I am not really sure I should use it for this purpose Any Ideas ?
26-J39 Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Set the waypoint as a target waypoint then do a waypoint fix as you would a nav fix. This way it just updates the target waypoint and not your flight plan.
JanTelefon Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Put the master selector into SPA (recon) mode and press the L/MÅL button. Then just do a normal fix using the radar or flyover. To select your target waypoint by pressing L/MÅL and the keypad no for the waypoint. They start at 01. The coordinates for the waypoint can be read in REF/LOLA OUT mode and relayed to another plane if needed.

Fly to waypoint. Turn on ground radar. See that convoy has moved away from waypoint in the radar (the vehicles reflect, but dang that's hard to see!) T1 to unlock radar crosshair. Slew to reflection in radar. T2 to update. That is what you are thinking? TJ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The idea here would be to have one plane spot the target and send the trailing plane the lola data over the radio so they can put bombs on target? TJ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Neon67 Posted April 9, 2017 Author Posted April 9, 2017 ok from my test to reset the position of the mark point , the old position must be already showing somewhere on your radar, this means you can update the marker position over more 50 km or so ?
