thereminqblank Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 Its this one: http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=81802 It doesn't have a PSU as standard so I plan for this one: Antec Neo HE 500. While investigating the OS compatibility I found this interesting thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=60416 So, to enable Core 2 Duo support (or AMD x2) in XP some action is needed, atleast in most cases if the OS is installed by vendor from an image. Its a notebook forum but this also applies to desktops. To be honest, I didn't understand a word of what that post was saying on the notebookreview forum link. I think it was about optimisation for dual core processors. I've never heard of it before, and did not have to do it for my processor to work! VMFA-Blaze Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 So this time I used Zip Zoom Fly as they had the best prices for most of the items that I bought.. Intel Dual Core Duo E6600, Asus P5W DH Deluxe( this board got high rateings from Anantec), Corsair Dual Channel DDR2 800 2 Gib.... And from Newegg (because this was the best price, Windows XP Pro OEM with the Vista Premium Upgrade the cost is actually 20 USD S/H..:hehe: After reading the specks of the Asus P5W DU Deluxe a little more closely I've had a change of heart, this board really isn't what I want for Flat Out Gameing and I personally think that a better choise will be the Asus P5N32-E SLI as I prefere to use Nvidia, so I'm going with the 7900 for now and when direct X 10 comes out I'll go with the 8800 in SLI or what ever is available at that time as I think its better to wait in this case... Of course prices should be more reasonable at that time..... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
