Magic Zach Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 (edited) First off, I recently have gotten into trying my hand at making textures for the P-51D. I've had some success, and figured out some things through trial and error. Eventually, I really wanted to edit the wheel rims and the tire tread. I made the wheel rims orange, and when I opened DCS, it reflected ingame. But when I edited the tread of the tires, it did not! :helpsmilie: The default tread texture is a diamond pattern. I wanted to change this to the tread type in this photo. I'm curious as to why it won't change from the default, and where I can find the texture that is overruling tire texture. I think that this tread change would be a cool detail and addition to my P-51 skins, assuming I can do it. Happy flyin', folks! Tread in DCS: Tread that I want: Edit: I found it! Took me a while. It's located in DCS World/Bazar/World/textures/P-51D.zip. Open that, and find the two files p51D_wheel.dds and p51D_wheel_NM.dds. Apparently this tire texture is not a texture that will come along with an individual skin, but is separate, and is per aircraft, not per skin. For now, I guess this thread is here for people to read over, and move on. Edited May 16, 2017 by Magic Zach Found it!
