Hi there,

I am just figuring out how to get my engine restarted after a flameout like in this video:

I do exactly the same steps but the engine won't relight.

- throttling down to idle

- locking the throttle via button

- silencing alarm ;)

- nose down

- fuel pump on

- relight switch on

- throttling a bit up when N1 starts to rise

Engine wont relight. Do you have an idea what does the trick?

Thank you in advance.

I don't think you must lock the throttle down, that shuts it off completely. Last time I did this I just put throttle to idle and relight switch on, nose down and waited until it came back.

If you have not yet read chucks guide on mirage 2000 then do so now! its is brilliant

Engine Flameout

– AIR ENGINE RESTART PROCEDURE

1. An engine flameout may occur if you are flying inverted for more than 15 seconds (engine will be starved of fuel because of gravity) or. You will notice a sudden loss in RPM and fuel flow.

2. Point the aircraft’s nose down to gain airspeed, set throttle to IDLE (fully aft)

3. Click the ENGINE SHUTDOWN button to set throttle to OFF position

4. Set the FUEL STARTER PUMP switch to MARCHE (ON)

5. Set the ENGINE RELIGHT switch to ON (FWD)

6. Slowly push throttle forward until RPM reaches 50

7. When engine is relit, set ENGINE RELIGHT switch to OFF (AFT)

Be careful with it, it contains errors as seen here : https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=187497 ( starting from #8 )

You should always double check with the aircraft manual and I think that the procedure above is incorrect, no reason to "Slowly push throttle forward until RPM reaches 50" as idle is already over 50% RPM...

I know Chucks Guide (forgot that to mention - sorry) and I tried it with throttle lock on and off...

Nothing of the above worked for me. I will give it a try again :)

Maybe I did something in the wrong order...

Thank you for your answers :) Enjoying the Mirage to the bone I am :D

I'll try tonight. I forgot what I did before. Only happens when you go too high, never managed to flame it out otherwise.

I am pretty sure that you can restart the engine using the standard procedure.

But i guess using the airspeed makes the engine spin up alot faster!

Forgot to test yesterday, but it would definitely be a good practice when the moment strikes.
