You can use a graphic monitoring tool like MSI afterburner or other tool that displays your Ram and Page file usage while the game is running. Running DCS 2.1 with 16 gigs of Ram, I typically also use several Gigs of Pagefile memory. I am running the Page file on the SDD...and that is where your should be. I generally don't experience stutters.

I actually dont run anything without AB so its there all the time.

Pagefile is about 8gigs and RAM usage is 5 or 6.

@Bitmaster: DCS always run fine for me until I put it on the SSD (just now). Thanks for the detailed post.

Well, both is true.

A modern SSD can live with it, older ones may suffer from it.

I use PF on ALL my drives as the OS picks the one it wants.

My PF usgae while flying online ( which is the only thing I do in DCS ) is never under 10-12GB

and m,y RAM usage hardly ever below 14GB, usually 15-17GB on any decent server with a good mission.

Your usage will be LESS if you grant less memory. It cannot be used what you dont have !

I dont think its a matter of living with it or not. It doesnt have anything to do with being modern, pagefile usage will always be the same. If anything, modern ones have more TBW so will last more, but the pagefile usage will impact the same way.

I just dont see yet why I have so many stutter with the SSD (brand new 0.7 TBW).

You can try one more thing to see if that helps: Disable anything that tries to sync framerates.

Disable Vsync, set your NV panel to "highest available" and try that. Since you run a 60Hz monitor it MAY be the reason, not likely but since you still suffer I think you are looking for help.

Frametime issue can cause this when the driver seeks to resync frames to a supported value.

It doesnt take much time to do it.

If you have another monitor, or a friend that can carry one over, do that and try it !

DCS has no stutter problem, it is the hardware and config one has imho.

It only happened once the first time I executed the game after installing it onto the SSD. After that it didnt happen again.

THAT is even more wierd.
