MKR (Radar) Contrast analog axis appears to be 1/2 of the length

According to the manual, the center position of the MKR contrast knob is supposed to be optimized for detecting targets at sea. However, when using an analog slider for MKR contrast, the center position appears to be at or near the minimum contrast setting (i.e. one extreme of the axis), and the midpoint appears to be near the 3/4 point of the slider.

Is this the same issue that affected the target wingspan/ranging knob in the MiG-21? If this is a bug, what are the proper axis settings to alleviate it (right now I have it set as a slider with a deadzone of 50)?

In the linear or logarithmically setting?

I've seen this (or event stranger) behavior of the axes in quite a few different aircraft. Can't remember the exact ones. It seems to be difficult for the developers at least for the 3rd parties to get it right.

I use a curve like this as a work around
