AmnesiaHazex Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 so ive got this cheap T.Flightstick X wich has always worked "fine" it used to be over sensitive, but I havent used it in a few months, came back to play some DCS only to find out there is something wrong with it... :( I have read the sticky's about the tools and calibration ect. the thing is all axis work as they should in every tool ive tried even in DCS axis tune panel all is good, but when i start flying its like it only uses 50% of its "power" if that makes sense. I have been trying to get it to work the last few days with no luck but with a fresh install of windows 10 all up to date drivers, hell i even flashed my bios ect. bla bla and STILL this thing behaves normal in every calibration test/tool i throw at it wich doesnt make any sense to me... so maybe anyone has a solution on here, ive also contacted Thrusmaster support but i dont have much hope with them... so anyone that has any idea as to what might be wrong with me/pc/joystick/dcs? maybe its better to abandon this 30euro crapstick and buy a new one but it has me puzzeled in a way i must find out :) oh and hey, im new here on this forum :pilotfly:
dburne Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Welcome to the forums! First, go into the DCS controller menu and pull up the axis assignments. Now look through them all and make sure there are no duplicates listed in there, clear out any that are not your actual axis assignments for your stick. DCS has a habit of doing this initially. AmnesiaHazex Posted July 20, 2017 Author Posted July 20, 2017 ive done that multiple times already, also ive reinstalled DCS a few times deleting everything in the registery and saved games folder too, still no luck
dburne Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Do you have any other type of controllers hooked up as well? Sometimes that can interfere also. If it is showing 100% axis travel in windows without any problem, then the problem almost has to lie somehow within DCS I would think. Sounds like your controller is fine. And very strange it would show full travel in axis tune, yet not in the plane itself. It sure does sound like a conflict in the controller setup for the module you are assigning it for though. Are you sure you are picking the correct module, ie sim rather than easy? AmnesiaHazex Posted July 20, 2017 Author Posted July 20, 2017 (edited) I had a wireless xbox reciever but like ive said i did a completely fresh paranoid reinstall of windows 10 with only my mouse and keyboard as usb devices connected. ive then updated all the drivers i could find for my pc including the lastest BIOS flash, only then have i installed DCS again and plugged in my joystick only and nothing else, so i dont think there is any trace left of those devices or drivers that could interfere since i booted from an USB flashdrive and formatted every drive i had. I dont even know anymore, if it was broken it wouldnt calibrate perfect every time and stay that way i would think... and yes i fly the mig-21 mostly, but every airplane i have reacts the same SFM or AFM it doesnt seem to matter i cant even pull 6G's in a flanker going 700-800 with full stick input... yet however the second i go to check the "axis tune menu" my stick responds like it should. dburne Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Yeah I am at a loss there, oftentimes I find things like this end up being something simple that is overlooked - lord knows I have done that myself more times than I can count. Best of luck figuring this one out, if I think of anything else I will certainly let ya know. AmnesiaHazex Posted July 20, 2017 Author Posted July 20, 2017 (edited) In 3 days of searching my ass off on the internet i came across one other guy who had his 737 yoke refurbished and got it back faulty, wich looked alot similar to my case however when he went into the calibration menu or whatever it is for that yoke his axis were indeed off, so pretty useless to share this, but i really wanna find out whats causing this before i spent 150euro on a x52 only to find out it could do the same somehow... even though i had my eye out for one of those for a long time now. So any help is very much appriciated if i couldnt pinpoint whats causing this. i have also contacted Thrusmaster and Eagle Dynamics to see if they know what could be causing this, but i suspect they will call my hardware faulty or something leaving me with nothing, therefore i really hope someone has any insight on this. the only thing i can think of is me copying all controll settings from my steam version to the standalone, but then again this wouldnt make any sense because since they i have reinstalled DCS so many times including windows.... but its the only thing i can think of why this is suddenly an issue Edited July 20, 2017 by AmnesiaHazex
fbfan64 Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 I have the same crap stick (for now anyway). I'm not having the problem you are experiencing but I did notice something for the first time not too long ago. In the DCS controls set up, there is a selection to make the settings for a specific module/plane or all modules/planes. Just a thought to double check that where you are checking the settings and axis inputs is for the plane you are flying. I hope you find the issue. I share your frustration being stuck on something that seems like it should be simple yet makes no sense. My Simpit Project
AmnesiaHazex Posted July 22, 2017 Author Posted July 22, 2017 Im lost, just got the x52 Pro and still the same problem... I miss the russian lady warning me for AoA :(
AmnesiaHazex Posted July 27, 2017 Author Posted July 27, 2017 (edited) Somehow it's fixed after sending back my second X52Pro and receiving another one from logitech because of "quality issues"... For the amount of money it costs, I would expect a better "feeling" and not broken POV hats, a sticky slider with an off shape and defects or a twitchy Y_axis that makes my ingame stick wobble around like crazy when holding it still, but enough complaints that are irrelevant as to why I started this topic, my initial problem is solved. :D Unfortunately without knowing wtf happened in the first place... If only they would just give me an X52Pro that works "decent", I can happy again. Edited July 27, 2017 by AmnesiaHazex
