Iku_CC Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Howdy, I'm going to make a new rig and it would be in black and white theme with these. i7-7700k 32Gb Corsair 32GB (4x8GB) VENGEANCE LED, DDR4 3000MHz, CL15 (bought these used) Samsung 960 Evo 500Gb Corsair RM850x (white) my old Zotac 980ti Anidees Crystal black/white case I hope that this is going to get me for better VR experience. After some time of use I will overclock i7 so motherboard need to be support overclocking. In our shop I can get Asus STRIX Z270H GAMING + Corsair H110i Extreme bundle at 270€ but it have not white at all on it..:)...not a big deal but still makes me wonder. I read in other thread that most of you suggest Asus Prime Z270-A...I like to know which of these combos you would get? Asus Prime and MSI Krait are black/white..:). But are those so much better (or worst) than Z270H that you suggest me to buy either of them or save my euros? 1. Asus STRIX Z270H GAMING + Corsair H110i Extreme bundle = 270€ 2. Asus PRIME Z270-A (175€) + Corsair H110i Extreme (139€) = 314€ 3. MSI Z270 Krait gaming (185€) + Corsair H110i Extreme (139€) = 324€ -Iku [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] HP Z420 | Xeon E5-1650 @3.20GHz/3.70Ghz | 16Gb DDR3-1333 | ZOTAC GTX 980 Ti AMP! | Micron RealSSD C400 256Gb | Sound Blaster Z | TrackIR4 | Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog| CH Pro pedals | Win 10 Pro 64-bit
Konovalov Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 If your primary aim is aesthetics then get the mobo which fits in with your preferred colour scheme. Otherwise compare the feature set of each mobo to determine what is your better fit. Any of them will pretty much overclock the same. It really just comes down to aesthetics, differences in rear I/O connections and things like onboard sound, motherboard layout, number of fan connectors and so on. BitMaster Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 IIRC it's a different soundchip + Kaspersky Antivirus that comes with the Strix, the rest is pretty much the same. Kaspersky offers a free AntiVirus since this week, so that is not a deal breaker anymore. If the sound is better on the Strix... I dont know. Iku_CC Posted July 29, 2017 Author Posted July 29, 2017 (edited) Thx..well I say that 1st speed (in this small budget), 2nd euros compared to options, 3rd mb options and then aesthetics. I will use SB Zx for sound so mb sound is not important and I use MS own virus so that Kaspersky is not a choice for me...I didn't even know that it will come with Strix..:). So seems that best choice is still Strix bunddle...I just wanted to know are Asus Prime or MSI Krait so much better MB's that it's worth of pay extra euros....
