Amazing VTOL VR game to see what DCS virtual hands could offer!

Just stumbled on that one via Steam. The game has amazing immersion with the most important cockpit functions and elements from modern multi-fighters.

And it does implement the "Virtual HOTAS" that is little, difficult because you can't keep hands rested, so you are not going to fly long periods or to do very fine adjustments easily etc.

But it is totally worth to check it out if you are VR user and want something "easier" as that is already more complex than many FC3 aircrafts.

This will be the challenge with the DCS, how to implement the cockpit hands with the physical HOTAS? This means we should have the Leap Motion supported or something other official tracking device (that allow us to use those HOTAS devices) like Oculus smart gloves.

The A-10C virtual hands are a nice example, but physical HOTAS is on the way. So maybe we will see a modifications where we just have a pipe on a spring where we stick the Touch Controllers or a Vive wands when we want to operate HOTAS. But before that we need to get the DCS to detect those controllers!

Now more than ever the A-10C virtual hands with the Oculus touch controller support would be needed. So we can extend index finger, grab a knob or rotate a dial etc. I want to touch my A-10C!

I really like that game as well, and I can't wait for when gloves with motion sensors are available. That way you could still fly with a stick and throttle but also flick switches as needed without picking up a touch controller.

The future looks very promising though. :D

Leap Motion should already offer that if ED would implement it to the DCS.

I've been having a blast with VTOL VR. Sure, you can't come close to compare it with the complexity and detail of DCS, but for what it is, it's a lot of fun.

After a little getting used to, I find the controls to be very well done and intuitive, considering you are just using the Vive/Touch controllers(Vive in my case). I didn't have a problem with rest as my armrests aligned quite nicely. There's also the ability to quite easily adjust the in-game joystick position.
