Completing Mission 2

First of all, congratulations on this campaign, from what I have seen so far its amazing and Im sure it will only get better.

 

Now, when I was playing Mission 2 earlier today, I encountered a problem of sorts. I neutralized the Fulcrums and a couple of Fencers, not sure how many. I was ordered to anchor at Waypoint 3 and proceeded in that direction. After a few seconds, I recieved the option to divert to Kutaisi. After a quick look at my fuel gauge I figured it probably would be a good idea to head there. I used the F10 radio option and proceeded to land at Kutaisi. I parked, turned everything off and left the mission. It was then that I realized that the mission was not actually registered as 'completed'. I had to play it again as if I had failed the mission.

 

So, did I do something wrong, or is this a bug in the mission?

I do remember from Mission 1 that it said Mission Completed before I diverted to Kutaisi. Should I have refueled and head for WP3? Or should I head to WP3 first and then for Kutaisi?

Hey Mr. Dieing, thanks for the report and for your kind words!

 

It sounds like you did everything perfectly.

 

If you land at either of the fragged airfields once given permission you'll be awarded extra points, but you should not be required to land at all to complete the mission. Once given permission to RTB by Magic at WP3 or Wizard via the F10 menu, the campaign should progress regardless of whether you botch the landing or quit the game before touching down.

 

We will double check the scoring triggers ASAP. In the meantime, you can skip directly to mission 3 (or any other mission in the campaign) using the "MISSION" option from the main DCS menu:

 

 

 

1. Open DCS World. Click "MISSION" on the main menu screen.

 

2. In the left-hand window, click "Flaming Cliffs" or "F-15C" depending on whether you have the standalone installation or the FC3 package

 

3. Click the folder icon " .. " at the top of the screen until you are in the root DCS directory

 

4. Click the folder icon "mods"

 

5. Click the folder icon "campaigns"

 

6. Click the folder icon F-15C The Georgian War

 

7. Select the desired mission. They are listed in order, named "F-15C TGW M##.miz"

 

This will not apply completion credit to the virtual logbook accessible from the main menu, but you will be able to play any mission from the campaign at any time!

Hey Mr. Dieing, we did discover a bug with scoring when the player diverts to Kutaisi. This has been corrected for the next patch!

 

For the time being, do not request permission to divert in mission 2 should you play it again. The mission will not be counted as successful until you are relieved by the second flight of F-15s. The issue has been corrected and an updated version of the .miz will be available with the next DCS patch!
