As expected:

http://www.lockonskins.co.uk/

A totally unnecessary and a very, very sad event !

I'm not going to blame a specific person, but this is the direct outcome of a questionable ban (355th_Paulie) which happened a few days before. In fact the closing of lockonskins marks the end of a sequence of events that could have been handled way better IMHO.

Sorry, have to say that because this is an objective view of the mentioned events, backed up by a series of PMs that I have exchanged recently with other forum members as well as parts of the forum staff.

This all is not supporting the community, it is contra-productive and implies the perception that the forum staff needs to improve both information transparency about why members get warned or banned (by not deleting threads but closing them) as well as a better weighted judgement concerning the impact that have bans of longterm, valuable members and supporters of the lockon community on other members.

After all, we are potential customers, and I'd like to address this to the forum staff for further consideration.

We say farewell to Mr. Wolf-LoSkins and thank you very much for the past years. You did a great job !

See you in the virtual skies ......

kind regards,

Raven....

I assume you speak of Kenans threads? You know the last one had nudity in it? And I pulled his thread up while at work....... Lucky I work nights and most the guys wouldnt have cared, but is everyone in that situation? What if someone got fired for that image popping up?

Sorry the guy was here only to harass others and the staff. He knew what was and wasnt acceptable, but chose to continue anyways.

Sorry that the 355th seems to have taken personal offense, its too bad they supported his behaviour.

No, I'm not talking about Kenan.

I am referring to the ban of Paulie (I wrote his name in my first posting), which led Wolfie to complain (unjustified or not) about this ban, which subsequently led to Wolf-LoSkins ban.

A sequence which could have been avoided by more transparency about why members get banned or warned. Most of us only get a glimpse , a fraction of the postings that have to be seen as a full picture. But that is not possible, because the threads get deleted right away which gives space to rumors and misinterpretions.

See what happens:

"Paulie was not banned for supporting Kenan. Yesterday he made an open post about how Kenan and EvilScotsman should be let back on the forum and that the mods were all wrong. This is after we have made it clear that the subject was closed and against forum rules to start new threads on this. As such, he was given a 30% warning for just a few days - quite light. He then went and made a vile general post attacking the moderators for just giving him a temp warning. THAT earned him a 30-day ban (not even a permenant one)." So wrote Wags to me.

Did you have the chance to get the same picture ? After I read only Wolf-LoSkins comments and that he complained about how Paulie was treatened, I myself was under the impression, that the MODs made a big mistake. IMHO Paulie's ban could have been avoided by showing a bit more tolerance and communication between him and the forum staff.

I think that even Wolf-LoSkins got the ban of Paulie wrong, and was ranting about it then, consequently. But this was due to the fact, that we all are unable to make up our minds about such events leading to a ban, because all the information is gone when the threads are gone. Which then gives plenty room for speculations and making the MODs look bad - to a certain degree, they are responsible for this to happen.

So, it's a tragedy that Wolf-LoSkin choose to quit as the result of a likely misinterpretion of the ban of Paulie, and that all could have been avoided before.....

kind regards,

Raven....

You live in the USA, right ? It's only a problem there, so I pretty much don't care about nudity. The internet is the biggest place for porn all over the world, an 70 % of all porn pages are from hosts inside the USA.

You are still referring to Kenan.

Again - I am NOT writing about Kenan here. Didn't you understand my postings above ??? My English is not that bad, eh ?

Golfsierra2,

I gave Mr. Wolf a one week ban for ranting about moderator's decisions - if you think that is a logical reason for him to close down his web site then you need a reality check.

You have been told several times by Matt what our considerations were/are concerning the Kenan situation and people campaigning here in his favour.

I really don't care whether you like those answers or not - if you are unhappy with the moderation here, I suggest that you find another forum more to your liking. But whatever your decision, you are NOT going to continiue with this type of threads - ranting about our decisions is a clear violation of the forum rules and exactly why Mr Wolf got his ban.

Case closed.

- JJ.
