So, when searching for how the castle hat works on the F-15C so I could setup my HOTAS warthog realistically... I stumbled on a real gem I think...

I was wondering if these parameters and techniques for the F-15E explained by an actual mud hen pilot would also work for the F-15C give or take some modifications to some of the parameters?

Anyone have any suggestions? GGTharos this is just the right question for you.

I'd love to help you but, which parameters are you referring to exactly? :)

He gives a pretty good explanation of the landing techniques.

Some of this stuff is different to what I prefer to do. For example on initial he says 3-4g turn. I prefer to nail 3g, throttle back but not idle ... and then roll out with 220kts heading for the perch. Maintain 220 - keeping exact speeds and distances is important when landing multiple aircraft.

The aerobraking I prefer to do at 13deg ... anything less is not effective, more, you might scrape the tail.

Like the airspeeds and altitudes for the E model and techniques, do they work for the C? Since the C is lighter and less thrust?

Btw: I never found out about that castle hat

They do work for the C. I think you can find out about the castle hat if you find a -1 or -34, which are pretty much lying around on the internet these days ... I think.
