M 2000-C refueling's problem

Hi all

I tried to makea refueling's mission today and I have 2 problems. First altought i set the maximum speed for the tanker ( IL-78) it still fly with a very low speed. This make for me refueling too difficut. Has someone heard for a buf or something else ?

My second problem is to set the language into english. I can only have it into russian ( language of the il 78 crew). How can I do this please ?

AI ignores the set speed. It's a reported bug. Unless you didn't set the speed in the options.

 

A russian tanker only speaks russian. Use the S-3B if you want it in english

You can set the speed of the tankers orbit in the orbit menu page in the mission editor. That is the speed that it will fly when you call to refuel, the speed in the route editor part is what it flies the rest of the time. (Note, the speed switch occurs when the tanker tells you to move to precontact)

 

You can use the IL-78 in the USAF Agressor or add the IL-78 to other countries, but I'm not at my computer to tell you how to do that. I think it's in the Lua file for the liveries.

Tank you very much for you effort. I appreciate it :thumbup:. I think to have set the speed properly but i much fly too slow with my plane to stay in contact with the tanker. Just unplayable at the moment. Could you be a bit more precise please how to choose the USAF Agressor please ? I don't know how to find them. Thanks in advance mate.

Thanks you very much for trying to help me. It is kind of you. I think i only can use the russian tanker to do a refueling with my mirage. But it seems I can not set properly the speed of the tanker. I tried to set the maximum speed but can not be set more than 459 mph ( if i remember correctly). In Game the speed on my HUD indicates around 170/180 mph wich is too low and make my attempt unable.

Is it what youname a reported bug ?

You should be to set the countries when you create a new mission. They are probably neutral in your mission currently. I do believe that Ukraine has an IL-78 as well.

 

I would suggest you try different altitudes. I usually set my takers to around 25,000 feet and I think 380-400 kts.

I tried to make a mission by choosing the agressor team. I choosed the Ukrainian tanker but the voices are still into russian :(. I tried too to transfer the russia, team in the blu squad but the result is the same. I know it is possible in the ME to have english voices but I don't remember how i did it. I do have an idea for you, but it's a bit more advanced. I need to get on the computer to give you the right steps. I'll get back to you later on what to do to solve this for sure.

First thing to realize is (as far as I can tell) the voice of DCS pilots is determined by their country. So changing Russia to the Blue coalition is not going to change their voice. I had suggested moving the USAF Aggressors to the Blue coalition, as far as I remember USAFA has all the airframes available in a stock install. It's been a while since I modded that. Anyway, follow these steps and you should be up and running in like 10 minutes.

 

• Start by downloading this tanker skin (Not required, but I like it for realism sake)

• Install the above skin in: ...\Bazar\Liveries\IL-78m\Air Support Systems LLC
  
• Open 'description.lua' and replace the relavant line with:
  

  countries = {"AUSAF","USA","CAN","FRA",}

  
  

  What this does is assigns the skin to USAF Aggressors, USA, Canada, and France. You can add whatever country that you would like, but you need to find the code for it yourself. I just go to a skin that has the country I want and copy it.
