Hello. I have recently had an issue my opentrack setup not working. I have using the ps3 eye and a self made led unit on windows 10, successfully for months. Now I only get a black image with no points in the tracking window.

I have already tried a number of fixes including reinstalling CL eye drivers and opentrack, trying to use facetracknoir with the protocols there. Installed windows 7 on a separate HD and tested opentrack in that. Still the same issue. I found that to be the strangest considering it was a fresh OS with only the windows updates and no antivirus. I have tried all usb ports with the camera. The only protocol that communicated with the camera was one of the test inputs.

I have read that completely uninstalling avast has worked for some, but considering I had the same problem on win7 with no antivirus I am not sure. I also have yet to format and reinstall win10, but want to try other fixes first.

I am totally stumped at the moment. I am considering setting up a udp profile with a spare android phone and using that in the mean time...or breaking down and buying a trackir5. Any help would be appreciated, I really like using the IR tracker I made.

Sounds like a hardware issue. What happens if you open cleye and play with the exposure and gain settings? Or could it be an issue with your clip? I know LEDs are supposed to last quite a while, but you never know. Can you check the continuity on your clip ?

Well, when I open the CL eye driver the image on there comes up, detects my camera image, and it shows my 3 LED's lit up. So no problem on those parts. The issue seems to be somewhere between the CL driver and opentrack, specifically the irtracker protocol I think.

It is really baffling. I've installed codec packs, checked settings multiple times. I'd love to try other software and protocols, but sadly there aren't that many options out there. I also found out the UDP phone tracking is only 3 dof...so that is a no go.

I am wondering if the creator's edition update for windows 10 64bit did something. On the open track forum there is mention of how fragile the coding is for these types of functions. That still throws me off as I tried on a fresh windows 7as well.

I'm running OT on the CE update w/o any issues. You probably already tried this but does adjusting the min/max pixel settings in OT have any effect? Running OT at the admin level?

I tried changing the pixel sizes around as I have not tried that yet. Also have been running as admin. No luck. I also have just finished going through with a fresh install of windows10. I thought for sure that was going to solve it, but no. The same issue of the CL driver showing the LED's just fine, and then nothing detected by the opentrack tracking.

I keep thinking it has to be some setting, but I keep checking them and they are correct...unless I am missing some strange config somewhere.

I am out of ideas for now.

Which version of OT are you using ? Probably doesn't matter but who knows. Can you post a copy of your ini file ? I'll be unavailable most of the day but I would like to look through the ini to see if anything pops out.

Edit: When you click start in OT is the red light on the camera coming on?

Well I just got it working. Thanks to your question about the red light. Previously I had always started the CL eye test before starting OT. I thought that was how it was supposed to be done, and it always worked before. Turns out that having the test running stops OT from using the camera now.

Holy cow, thanks a lot. I guess I went through a whole bunch of unneeded effort, but at least it works now.

Thanks a lot! Who knows how long I would have been trying it that way.
