Markindel Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 I bought this model of the F6F-6 Hellcat: https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-f6f-hellcat-uss-hornet/695605 I'm also trying to animate the cockpit. I need help with the mirror: In the "description.lua" file I modified the original line of the P51D by writing: {"F6F5_Glass_Mirrors", 0, "Glass_Mirrors", true}; Unfortunately, it does not work, the mirror remains of the color of the textures. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you. Screens:
cdpkobra Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 (edited) description.lua {"F6F5_Glass_Mirrors", 0, "mirrors", true}; DCS 2.5.0 needs the material mirror again Edited March 18, 2018 by cdpkobra Material changed to mirror
Markindel Posted November 15, 2017 Author Posted November 15, 2017 (edited) Thanks cdpkobra. Now works. I just have a little mystery to discover. When I take the plane the mirror does not work but if I have another F6F5 in the mission and change the plane, it will work. However, I was satisfied, it was a step forward. I thank you again for the advice. Edited November 15, 2017 by Markindel

Markindel Posted December 1, 2017 Author Posted December 1, 2017 inside the "liveries" folder you find the "description.lua" file. livery = { .......................................................... .......................................................... {"name of your plane", 0, "mirrors", true}; } 1

Tanuki44 Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 (edited) I'm digging up an old topic... I tried to model two mirrors for a SeaHawk, (3ds max) I think I followed the instructions above, but as soon as I select the material : mirror in the texture controller, the mirror becomes transparent and I see through it and not behind it... I tried reversing the normals, same result. Any ideas? Thanks in advance Edited October 30, 2022 by Tanuki44
