so I first installed the AB/cone textures and then installed Walmi's mod, and it works well and the new ab looks great, but the problem is that the engines in my F-15 are now showing as being just a blotch of gray on the inside with no turbines or anything like that.

is this normal, or should I reapply the ab/cone textures in order to get turbine textures back?

I see and know how to fix it, I've ever had this problem before

Do you use Modman 5 ?

First, you must uninstall Walmis's F-15C model

Then, open Modman 5's graphics settings page, uncheck "Apply all settings when launch LO...." box at the bottom of the page, if you check it, it'll remove some added lines in Graphics.cfg (when you install Walmis's F-15C model, it'll update the graphics.cfg with two new lines has been added) when you start LO or start Modelviewer

Uncheck that box and then re-install Walmis model, it's OK ! (because if you uncheck that box, graphics.cfg will be updated with:

_common:".//Bazar//World//Shapes/f15_newtextures.cdds (and f15_maintextures.cdds)......

Hope you understand !

After install Walmis'[s F-15C model beta 2, you should check Lock On folder, then you'll see 2 new files: f15_uninstaller.exe and f15_update.exe (I'm not sure aout the name of files :D), the Walmis's mod has no uninstaller in Windows Add/Remove Program but you can uninstall it by clicking on f15_uninstaller.exe as well as you can uninstall by re-starting Walmis F-15C Model Beta 2.exe, when you start Walmis mod, it'll show you a button: Remove (or unsintall), click it to remove installed Walmis's model

After unsinstall, you can now reinstall it without any troubles

Looks very nice!

Download Walmis's F-15C model mod to your HDD, it's a zip file, you can unzip it with Winrar. After unzipped, I've got an executable file: Walmis F-15C.exe or something like that, you can also rename the file

Then install it into LO by click on the .EXE file, then check the ipdated Graphics.cfg---> finish

Now, open Modman 5 or Modelviewer

Next, check the Graphics.cfg in Config folder, open it with Notepad or Wordpad go to about half of the page to:

common=".\\Bazar\\World........cdds";

if you see two new lines which has just been added:

common=".\\Bazar\\World\\f15_maintextures.cdds";

common=".\\Bazar\\World\\f15_newtextures.cdds"; ==> It's OK, you can see the new Walmis's F-15 skins in the game

If you don't see them (because if you checked the box "Apply all settings...." at the bottom of Modman 5 Graphic settings before install the Walmis's mod, those lines in Graphics.cfg will be deleted or some symbols such as """"""""" or """"""........"""""" will be added more to the file so you cant see new F-15C skins, added symbols changed the graphics.cfg) you must:

_ If those lines has been deleted ---> add them more

_ If those lines has been changed ----> correct them

So you mustn't check the box "Apply all settings....." before install Walmis's mod or any other mods in .CDDS format (Cy-25T skins.....)

does one have to use LOMAN to make it work

Yes, you can. You must install the .EXE file first, then copy some things here to other place:

_ Choose 3 added .LOM files in Shape folder: F-15.LOM, F-15-LOD.LOM & F-15-LOD2.LOM

_ Copy the new Graphics.cfg with two new lines added

_ Copy f15_maintextures.cdds and f15_newtextures.cdds (both are over 45Mb) in Bazar/Wolrd folder

All of them are 1,2,3...... yep 6 files you need

Then add them to Modman 5 Add-on Maker, pack it ===> Now you have a new addon that you can install/ uninstall with Modman 5 :D
