leafer Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 I found a place that sells it for 14 US dollars in my country and was wondering if it's any good. I have the original IL2, but could never get into it for some reason. The FM felt kinda weird in that one. Maybe it's just me. I thought about buying SB pro but naw...too expensive for a game just to hold my interest until BS is released. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Kuky Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 If you only got the original IL-2... there have been many addons and patches since then... if you can get IL-2 1946 DVD version which has all IL-2 series in it... go for it. PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
leafer Posted January 31, 2007 Author Posted January 31, 2007 I don't think it has 1946 version in it. I'll check it out anyway, might be worth the money this time. Cheers ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Poopskadoop Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 I actually like the original more than the ad-ons for some reason. It's a great sim but not ideal for use with a Saitek X-52. The controls are too loose and this causes constant nerve-wrecking readjustments when you're training your gunsights on the enemy. I played it using a friend's cheap logitech (or something like that), and it was much easier to keep the sights on target.
leafer Posted February 1, 2007 Author Posted February 1, 2007 I'm using a Saitek joystick, but not the highend stuff. Anyway, went to get it yesterday but someone beat me to it. Now I regret not buying it when I had the chance. Bugga... ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Fjordmonkey Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Leafer, as far as I know the Complete edition of IL2 contains Forgotten Battles, Aces Expansion Pack, Pacific Fighters and the PE-2-expansion. In other words, it will be a 4.05m-version. Does not contain 1946, but it's a good buy nonetheless =) Hours upon hours of fun there. Do you have a link to where you saw the package? Regards Fjordmonkey Clustermunitions is just another way of saying that you don't like someone. I used to like people, then people ruined that for me.
AndyHill Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Leafer, if you're interested in the Il-2 series I'd suggest getting the latest 1946 version. That's where the multiplayer is. _______________________________________________________________ Lock on MUST have a dynamic campaign system with multiplayer capability!
