Soundwave197 Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 Hi, since i first tried bombing i have no clue how the AUTO mode works and how i have to fly to hit my targets. I had no problem with CCIP/CCRP in the A-10C but in the AV8B its compleatly different. With CCIP from 5000feet i hit my targets 9/10 but in AUTO not a single hit above 200 feet. That ASL line always wanders to the right, left and rotates. Is this still WIP? because in the A-10C i have two vertical lines i have to put on top of each other and i can clearly see if i have to roll to the right or to the left. fjacobsen Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 I think that the ASL in Auto mode is stil WIP. I can make decent attack's in Auto mode, but it requires, as You say, that You carefully line up the ASL. As in real life, don´t expect Auto to be near as accurate as CCIP mode - and then again - there is a reason why guided bombs where invented despite they are alot more expensive. | i7-10700K 3.8-5.1Ghz | 64GB RAM | RTX 4070 12GB | 1x1TB M.2. Flagrum Posted December 22, 2017 Posted December 22, 2017 +1 for WIP The current implementation of the ASL in auto mode does not exactly help you to line up properly. Rather the contrary, imo. ASL behaving strange
*Aquila* Posted December 23, 2017 Posted December 23, 2017 Put the vertical line on the TD box with the stick, the VV on the line with the rudder and you'll hit. What's nice with the A-10 is being able to fly level, and even to climb during the process. With the AV-8B, to do so, you'll have to wait the loft bombing mode, which is WIP. In auto mode, you have to dive so you keep the TD box in sight.

The guided weapons reason really wasn't that ARBS kind systems were inaccurate, but because the delivery was too risky for aircrafts. When with guided munition you can just loft or release from standoff range the ordinance, you don't need to risk aircraft and pilot to local AA. And when you have troops at ground to do the observation and confirmation of targets and the scene, it is safer for everyone when it ain't just one eye pair to do it. Harrier is no the second western fighter I have used for bombing, first one really was a Mirage. And with Mirage I found it to be already little challenge in either modes. My main bombing runs has been done on Su-25T, Su-27 and Su-25A and in all those it is just super easy regardless of the height, and real challenge being just the wind calculation to be considered with. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
