Serious sound issues in Viggen

I've tried searching for this issue here, but can't see anything.

I have a real probelm with sound in this mod. There are a lot of occasions where most sounds are muted while 1 other is playing.

Examples are:

1) during training missions when the instructor is speaking, all other sounds are effectively almost muted, and this leads to a bad aural experience as I hear sounds fading in and out all the time.

2) any radar warning has the same effect on engine/external sounds as in 1).

Is this a known problem?

Hmm, I've never played the training missions, but it sounds like this is intended to make the instructor understandable.

I've never noticed that engine sounds are fading out during radar warnings. I'll pay attention to that next time. What version are you playing? 1.5 or 2.2? And do you have activated "hear like in pilots helmet" in the sound options?

No, I don't think it's so that the instructor can be heard. No other module trainiing missions have this issue.

No, I don't have 'hear like pilot's helmet' switched on.

I haven't tried in 2.2 as there are no training missions. Just starting with the Viggen.

Try the 'Beachhead Interdiction' Instant Action mission and fly till you hear the radar warning.

I'll post a video if you can't hear the same thing.

Alright, I also fly in 1.5 only, but I have the "hear like pilots helmet" activated. Maybe that makes a difference. I will check that later or tomorrow.

OK, so this had nothing to do with the Viggen. I started noticing it in other modules, and eventually tracked it down to the Creative Labs sound equaliser settings I was using. I turned that EQ off, and all is good!

Alright, thanks for letting us know! I'm also using creative sound, but I have EQ off, so that's why I couldn't reproduce it.

In fact the Creative EQ is uttterly appalling. It completely messes up music as well. I have gone back to using iTunes EQ for music, and nothing in games!
