nicholasyt Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Good Day, I fly in VR and i have found the F10 view to be unnecessarily obstructive in VR. The main issue i have with it is that: 1) it is too "close" to your face, making it rather hard to access the buttons at the sides of the screen easily in a pinch 2) it takes you out of the cockpit and your hands off your HOTAS (usually), making it rather clunky in VR After discussion with some peers, we have several recommended suggestions: 1) (MOST IDEAL) - a "snap-view" type of F10 map that appears similar to a kneeboard image, small, unobtrusive and importantly allowing you to maintain SA in your cockpit. However the interface/buttons might be an issue to program/code 2) (Interim) have a smaller F10 FOV such that it is easier to read at a glance and doesnt take uup your entire cockpit view, maybe even make it translucent like the options tab that pops up in VR 3) (Compromise) increase button size, decrease FOV, maybe make the window translucent? To ease navigation of the icons in VR Please let me know if you feel these are feasible! As VR becomes more accessible we will only have more players that will start to deal with these clunky issues, right now the F10 implementation feels rather clunky and not streamlined. Thanks!
Kayos Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 I like Option 1. That would be nice. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
feefifofum Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Right now the F10 view and your cockpit are mutually exclusive, it's not an overlay; I would imagine this would require a significant effort on the part of the ED team. You do already have a kneeboard which contains your flight plan, however. You can press Rctrl+M (or bind a button on your HOTAS so you don't have to take your hands off) to mark your current position. THE GEORGIAN WAR - OFFICIAL F-15C DLC
