Will the Steam version of Harrier/Hornet ever work on standalone?

I Understand that from the Harrier onwards, a new DRM system is in use, that was previously alluded to be able to work on both Steam and Standalone.

 

However, the steam store page for the harrier indicates that its incompatible with standalone

 

I would just like to ask for a clarification on this issue; will it be PERMANENTLY unable to swap?

 

Asking because I have NTTR on steam and would like to know before I get the Hornet =)

I'd assume for now that they're going to be unable to swap and stick to one platform.
