I've been playing patched up version of flaming cliffs for a couple of days now and all of a sudden Russian planes can't stay leveled. This only happens if a stick or game pad is plugged in. Don't know if this is even a bug, maybe that's how the Russian planes behave however this wasn't happening only a few hours ago. Anyone came across something similar?

Are you trimming the plane as your airspeed increases/decreases? The Rus jets need constant trimming.

I am confused now. Perhaps some trimming was required, but never this much.

It all goes back to normal once I remove the stick (unplug it).

CTRL-T solves the problem. This must be a bug since I didn't encounter this before.

no its not, you have to learn how to trim the aircraft. remember, the Russian planes do not have auto trim.

That seems to be the case.

I wonder why it didn't occur earlier.

skinners,

perhaps your joystick / gamepad isn't calibrated properly...

IRL Russian jets need constant trimming and planes like MiG-29 and Su-27 are made for hi AoA flights.

Don't be confused by a aircraft datum on your HUD. It is not FPM like on USFOR jets, it's more like gunpoint (marks your nose position). Angle of attack is angular difference between 0 degrees line on your HUD ladder and datum displayed. To tell exact direction of flight you need to take a closer look to VVI gauge and AoA gauge.

MiG-29 @ 800 km/h in level flight has 3-4 deg AoA meaning that direction of pitot boom is elevated 3-4 deg from flight direction. If you accelerate during level flight plane will start to climb and if you bleed off plane will dive...

Cheers!

its stick/bug

I know what he's talking about, I've had it happen

flying non russian craft as well.

I just restart the game and it's controllable again.
