LC34 Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 I moved one version of DCS world 1.5 to my new E drive, while keeping DCS 2.0 on C drive as I am running low on space in C drive I thought this would work well. Then it hit me, the new update! Which one or both will it update? Sorry I have read threads about people moving their installs but most still have them in the same drive, I assume having them in different drives will make the download think some files aren't there once I start updating? Since I have over a TB of free space in the new E drive, would it be best to move 2.0 there as well, update when it comes, then move it back to the SSD C drive? Also I thought I read somewhere that once the update does happen, both versions will be the same? Is that with this coming update or one further down the road? grunf Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Doesn't matter where the installs are located, as long as registry entries point to them, like this: Just in case, the updater seeks for the installed versions in the registry, the paths are expected to be in: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Eagle Dynamics\\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha" "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Eagle Dynamics\\DCS World OpenBeta" "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Eagle Dynamics\\DCS World" string value "Path". 1.5 Open beta will be updated first, open alpha and release will follow a week or two later. More info here.
