Turnip Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 I spend 24 hours downloading the open beta. T hen spend hours downloading a 2.6.23.34 patch or something. THEN I get a error message saying a server is full. The update dumps. I am forced to wait ANOTHER 4 hours for it to re-download on my slow DSL. Now I get it downloaded AGAIN and it dumps saying server full, try again later, wanting me to download it AGAIN! If I try to load it and fly, I CTD on quick missions. The NVR is flyable but nothin with Caucuses. When I go into the sim, it say version 2.5.0.1.13818. I tried to add the LOG file here but it says it is not a legit log file. Huh?
mkiii Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 Did you already have a copy of 1.5 or 2.2 installed? That saves a lot of time because a ton of files are copied from the old install rather than downloading. Right now though it sounds like you at least have enough to get it running, so perhaps it might be better to run your DCS_Updater from the bin folder with the following command line :- C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS_updater.exe" --apply repair That (AFAIK) should just look for missing / bad files, and download them.
Turnip Posted February 2, 2018 Author Posted February 2, 2018 Tried to run the command above from the command prompt but it wouldn't work. Is that what you were referring to? I am currently trying to update again from the DCS Updater in the DCS/OPENBETA/BIN folder. The file size is about 2GB again so it will take me all day to do it. So frustrating. The last two times I did this, the server error popped up and it apparently doesn't update anything. The whole download is erased.
mkiii Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 (edited) Not the command prompt. Create a shortcut to DCS_updater, Right click & open up it's properties & add the --apply repair bit to the end of the command line in the "Target" section of the Shortcut Tab. Then run. This will force the updater to do a repair & if sucessful, it should replace any missing files. EDIT: Since you are already updating.... it may be too late, but you probably aught to get familiar with the way this works once you get up & running, it will save you a lot of frustration. To make life easier, you can grab a copy of the Excellent DCS Updater GUI Utility by SkateZilla. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160053 Edited February 2, 2018 by mkiii
mstauning Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 Stop useing HTTP and use torrent, then you wont get the server full..
Turnip Posted February 2, 2018 Author Posted February 2, 2018 I was able to get it to update after this last download. FYI I had never used the HTTP update and always used torrent. Thanks for the input guys.
mstauning Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 We just need access to the torrent files, then we can use a better torrent client !
Jomzo Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 I have the exact same problem. What i can see is that the files from the download folder do not get copied to the DCS World OpenBeta folder. I tried to manually move, which worked, however, when repairing, it starts to copy everything into the downloads folder again, and... When i do the repair function, it should download 6.2gigs, it is now at 14.7 gigs... Doesn't seem right to me...
