Raven_Morpheus Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 (edited) OK, so I'm going to hazard a guess I'm not the only one having similar issues but I thought I'd add my voice to the discussion of similar issues. Load times are ridiculous, vastly inflated from 1.5.8.x and even 2.2.x. Missions seem to hang during loading, and also when I go to click on "Fly". When I exit the game I get massive lag on my PC for a period, a minute or two, and the game itself sits at a black screen for about a minute also before finally exiting and giving me my desktop back. This only happens with DCS, no other game I have (including the one that is most recent, Sniper Elite 4) does this. Oddly when the game "stops responding" and I choose the option to close it I have no such issues... Just in case, although I don't see how it's relevant as my PC isn't exactly a budget workstation and I had no such problems with 2.2.x or 1.5.8.x, my PC specs are - Intel i5 4690K at 3.9ghz. nVidia GTX 960 2GB 8GB RAM SSD for OS SSD for game. Lixma 06 Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 +1 I've had this a lot tonight - long black screen on exit; sometimes requires killing in task manager.
Raz_Specter Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 i believe that DCS is doing cleanup of cached files upon exit. My system stays black longer say 2 to 4 seconds after a 2 hour session playing online. Leno Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 Same here! I've been using some programs that read the amount of ram used and the difference between version 1.5.8 and 2.5 is absurd, with version 2.5 coming to use almost 8 Gb while 1.5.8 has fluctuates with peaks between 4.5 Gb and 5Gb. logically that the version 2.5 with more resources will consume more memory, but nothing that justifies this absurd difference. Unfortunately, version 2.5 is unplayable for anyone under 16Gb :(. Windows 7 Ultimate, Intel i7 3770, 8GB DDR3, NVIDIA 680GTX.
Ragnar65 Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 Unfortunately, version 2.5 is unplayable for anyone under 16Gb :(. That´s not correct. I´m running 2.5 with 8 GB RAM and it runs fine. If it´s unplayable for you, don´t blame RAM for it... ;-) X-56 HOTAS, TFRP Pedals Modules: F-5E, FC3, F/A-18C, Mirage 2000 C, AV-8BNA, FW-190 A-8, F-16C Viper SystemSpecs: AMD A8-6600K (4x3,9GHz), 16 GB RAM, NVidia GeForce GTX1070 8GB, WIN10 64bit

I'm not blaming, I'm stating that the problem is RAM, and it's not unplayable just for me, this for a lot of people. I got borrowed RAM and tested on my machine and the problem simply disappeared. coincidence? I think not Edited February 16, 2018 by Leno Windows 7 Ultimate, Intel i7 3770, 8GB DDR3, NVIDIA 680GTX.
