Hexypu Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 I was playing with my AV-8B, setting up to takeoff at Nellis and Laughlin with an AI wingie (DCS 2.5OB), and found that my AI wingman won't takeoff after a short running start. The AI just remained on the runway with full engine on. Curious, I then set the flight to just AI only to see if both would do the samething just to see if it's because one plane was player controlled... and they both did the samething. Stuck on the runway with full engines on! This happened while at these two airfields, I haven't checked others. Can anyone else see if they have the same problem?
uscstaylor Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 They are to heavy.. If you give them just AIM-9 and maybe Sidewinders they will takeoff...You have to check the weight requirement for lift off. They VSTOL not like an F-16 or F-15 no running takeoff
Emmy Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 Give them 40% fuel and send them straight to a tanker before tasking them with anything else... Hexypu Posted February 5, 2018 Author Posted February 5, 2018 Ok, thanks! I guess rolling takeoffs are not in the works yet.
Hexypu Posted February 5, 2018 Author Posted February 5, 2018 Ok, thanks! I guess rolling takeoffs are not in the works yet. Update: Ok here's something interesting. It's probably non-consequential since the rolling short takeoff feature isn't implemented/considered (especially for airfields), but I tried the same load out (full fuel load and weapons) with the Caucasus map and the AI tookoff of the Tarawa no less, not using STOL but VTOL! So my hunch... it's something to do with the Nevada map perhaps? Maybe I'll try again on a Georgian airfield.
Emmy Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Won't make a difference... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://www.476vfightergroup.com/content.php High Quality Aviation Photography For Personal Enjoyment And Editorial Use. www.crosswindimages.com
