Hoggorm Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 Hi, I have a GeForce GTX 1070 card that from time to time drops its usage percentage. This results in stutter and it happens regardless of the DCS settings - even when everything is a minimum. The sim is running smoothly at 60-100 fps between these stutters. I've experimented a lot with the nVidia settings as to identify if there is a single setting that produces these drops in GPU usage, but I cannot find anything. Please see a MSI Afterburner screenshot that will identify the GPU usage drops and moment of stutter. If you have suggestions to what nVidia settings to try, I'd be happy to hear from you!
prccowboy Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 Have you monitored your other system components when you have the stutters (ie. cpu load, hdd, memory, network). It may not be video card related. My gpu utilization (with SLI) will drop significantly when cpu load increases (one of the cores maxes out) but stutter could also be related to disk access or even network use (especially in Windows 10 with background tasks)
Hoggorm Posted February 17, 2018 Author Posted February 17, 2018 MSI Afterburner do record a number of parameters and neither show any abnormality when this happens. As far as I can see hdd and network is not recorded though, so I'll check that as well. Thank you
Hoggorm Posted February 17, 2018 Author Posted February 17, 2018 I just tested with internet disabled and there was still the same stutter. I was not able to see any changes in the HDD when the stutter occurs...
