Evilducky Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Hello guys. I don't post here much, but I do look around here a lot. I have been playing lockon for a little while now, but have come across a few things and need some help on them. The first thing I would like an answer to is, and this came from another thread kinda, how come the Mig-29's can not land with the air breaks out?? Like I said, I didn't notice this until I read the thread on here, I believe, that asked if you land with air breaks on or off. Second thing I need is more of a help. Can you fire any missiles from the Russian planes without a hud? For example, if you get hit by a missile, and your hud is gone, but you can still fly the plane well, can you shoot missile back at him or are you completely screwed in this department? Thanks for the help. =Ducky=
Joe Kurr Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 The MiG-29 closes its airbrake as soon as you lower your landing gear, because it would hit the runway if it was still open. Dutch Flanker Display Team | LLTM 2010 Tiger Spirit Award

I'm not sure about radar missiles-I have not been in that exact set of circumstances. FiO- Longitudinal aiming mode. This is using the missiles own active seeker to lock and engage. There is no sensory information from the aircraft other than kicking it off the rail. Limits of the seeker and burn motor still apply. 8 key activates a calibrated grid that is not assigned to any weapon in particular. There are separate crosshairs for the guns and the missile seeker head. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]

The helmet mode doesnt work, the longitudinal mode doesnt work. The only thing that works is my grid mode, but I cant fire missiles in that mode at all. Also thanks for the answer to my air break question. :book:
Poopskadoop Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Fi0 always works for me. I don't understand why it shouldn't, unless damage to missiles have been modeled, which I doubt.

Aeroscout Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 well, if your in the middle of the fight, getting out is hard. If you can, with your hydrolics failure and everything. (making menovering a bit more difficult.) continue to fight. switch to longitudinal missile aiming and put the bandit in the middle of the HUD. you should here a tome, fire when ready. But I do agree with TuckersonSonny, get the crap out of there if you have the chance. Evilducky Posted February 24, 2007 Author Posted February 24, 2007 I tried those again tonight when fighting, and no luck guys. I have the longitudinal mode programed onto my joystick, and when I lose the hud, and try to switch to that mode, or the helmet one, they don't show up. Am I missing something here?
