tacco
This is very weird. First of it's important to know that I had 2 HDD. So... I had DCS 2.5 installed on my \: D drive wich died some days ago. It used to start normaly, but I couldn't join Multiplayer with 2.5. Then I reinstalled DCS 2.5 on my \:C drive and somehow it only loads up to 10% and just seizes activity. But it dosen't crash or anything, it just stops. If anyone has a fix for this I'd be very glad. tacco
Hi tacco Delete your scripts folder in dcs root and run a cleanup and repair it should fix this, let me know how you get on Sadly your fix solution didn't work:cry: The problem still insists. If you need any specific information about my game (directorys, hardware etc). Something strange did happen though. The download of the repair timed out twice and I have no idea why, because the file to download was only 6,6 MB in size. Thank you anyway for this first fix attempt.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted March 16, 2018 ED Team Share Posted March 16, 2018 do you have any unofficial mods installed? try deleting your script folder in your saved games location and restart DCS Forum rules - DCS Crashing? tacco
Just tried that, didn't work. I shouldn't have any installed because I freshly installed this version of DCS. If I have any that I don't know of, how do I find them and uninstall them? I used to have many on DCS 1.5. Were the migrated over to 2.5? P.s If you'd want we could jump on Discord to try to solve the problem. Edited March 16, 2018 by tacco
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted March 16, 2018 ED Team Share Posted March 16, 2018 when you do a cleanup it should remove all unofficial files Best advice at the moment is to follow this https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=202214 Ensure windows and any drivers are up to date. make sure any unofficial mods are removed ( if any ) run a cleanup and repair, or if steam verify your install Rename your dcs.openbeta folder in saved games ( keep it as a backup ) C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta example C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS.openbetabackup restart DCS allow it to create a new one, redo your settings and test You can move your input folder back after to save time from the renamed one. If this does not help make sure your security / antivirus is not creating a problem, they can be over protective sometimes. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? tacco
I managed to repair the game by deleting the whole Saved_games\DCS.openbeta folder. There were probably some mods hanging around in folders besides the Saved_games\DCS.openbeta\Scrips. Sadly the problem of not being able to connect to servers like the 104th persists. But to fix that problem I'll just buy a SSD, because I guess it would help with loading or smth and I should get myself a 1050ti soon.
