2.5 wont start after update

As the above title suggests after updating today DCS 2.5 just hangs forever with the splash screen. Whats frustrating about about this particular problem is that it completely locks up my computer resulting in a cord restart. No amount of alt tabbing will bring any programme up. It was bad enough flying around Nevada with no buildings after the last update but this is too much really. And before the it's "a beta" brigade jump in, I know it's a beta (Nor is it a Win 10 problem). However with a beta one expects a certain degree of functionality like oh I don't know maybe being able to play the damn thing.

 

I apologise for the salt I'm relativity patient when it comes to DCS warts and all. However it seems of late to be one thing after another and this really is the straw that broke the camels back for me. Now instead of playing the game I'm going to have spend the rest of the afternoon deleting folders closing down applications,turning on and off virus programmes in the vain hope to get 2.5 working as it was yesterday before I updated. At least yesterday the game opened and I could fly around a barren structure free Nevada.

rename your DCS.Openbeta folder keep it as a backup for now ( you can move your input folder after )

 

C:\Users\John\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta

 

then restart DCS so we can rule out any settings issues

 

bare in mind the first load will take much longer as it is generating shaders

i5 3.0 WIN 10 64 bit GTX 950 12 gigs of ram. As I said in my original post 2.5 opened before recent update. Albeit a building free Nevada is better than loss of control of computer.

go to the old renamed folder and move your input folder to the new one

Yeah thanks. The update must have wiped them the first time i tried to run the game after the update. They are still reset after adding the folder. Ah well. Could I use the input folder from 1.5 perhaps?

hi i have a similar porblem. Just updated DCS 2.5 latest update after that DCS didn't start at all. I tried to repair it but now it says Modul World.dll got changed. :(

have you used any unofficial mods?

 

and what antivirus are you using?

delete the /CoreMods/Aircraft/F-5E folder

 

and entry.lua here

 

/Mods/Terrains/Nevada/entry.lua

 

then run a repair, it may help

 

if that does not work delete the whole coremods folder and nevada folder

 

and run a repair

No i didn't use any mods at all. I tried to install some aircraft skins but that didnt work...

 

I use windows defender atm.
