Catah Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I have been wondering how to get a hamachi server working for DCS and under what conditions it works. I know it is definitely possible to do because I have been able to host a server and have someone connect directly through the hamachi IPv4, and we flew for a while together. However since that one time it worked, I have been unable to host a server again through hamachi; the person on the other end can't connect. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get it consistently working? Thanks. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Lord of War Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 i have the same problem and would appreciate any kind of help
gavagai Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 If you create a multiplayer server without forwarding the correct port anyone on the same LAN will be able to see the server, but not anyone else. Why bother with Hamachi? Pikey Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 you only need 250K peak per client. If he has internet enough to join you, he has internet to host you joining also. So your apparent solution is to add to the latency by creating an ipsec tunnel with all the TCP overhead and that makes that better? No. Calling BS. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *
Cytt0rak Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 Guys not everyone has ability to port forward as some of the providers put you in a pool specifically so that you can't host anything up and force you to get a commercial static ip. This could be op's problem. 1
