2.5 joystick config -> 1.58

Made the fatal mistake of letting the 2.5 replace the 1.5x during install.

I had to reinstall 1.58, runs better on my machine

Can I copy the 2.5 joystick settings to the new install of 1.58?

 

If so where is it?

The path for the stable version is C:\users\[user name]\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input

 

It was like that for 1.5.xx and still is for 2.5.xx. Your old input folder should still be there, so I guess your "new" 1.5.8 should work with it "out of the box" so to speak.
