fiendlittlewing Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 Torrent download instantly crashes my router. I am unable to download via the DCS_updater.exe torrent. Whenever I try, my router immediately crashes. I know that you can force HTTP by canceling the torrent download. But by then it's too late, the router must be restarted and the HTTP download will timeout. The Steam version works fine, but one of my modules is incompatible with Steam. Is there a direct torrent or HTTP link to the latest DCS version? (other torrent clients work fine on my PC) Is there a switch using the DCS_updater.exe in the terminal that will force HTTP download? (This would be the ideal solution)
QuiGon Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 I have no solution for you, but this seems pretty odd. May I ask what router you're using? Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
QuiGon Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 I see, thanks. Unfortunately I have absolute no experience with these type of routers. Can't help you there, sorry. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
BitMaster Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 I would try a newer router that can digest a higher I/O. File sharing clients can flood a router with thousands of connections to different IP's, that can tilt any router, it's just a question of HOW MUCH it can take. Yours seems fairly old( b & g Wlan ) and may have a weak CPU and justs shuts off without any grace ..bahhh Cisco !! Try a better router !
