derodo Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 Hi all, Moved to the stable release version this week, and noticed that contrails go on & off depending somehow on the angle you look at them at. So for example, I'm flying straight and I can clearly see my AWACS contrailing in the distance when looking slightly to the left; but if turn my head to look straight, the contrail dissapers even when it's still in my view cone; that is, the place where the contrail should be is on screen, but it's not rendered. Slightly turning my head left/right, or even tilting up/down makes the contrail "blink" and appear dissapear depending on my head's orientation (I'm using trackIR). I don't remember this happenig in the OB, but I can't tell for sure. Is it just me or is this a known bug?
Tidy Dave Posted April 22, 2018 Posted April 22, 2018 I've also been experiencing this. Pretty much the only time you can see the contrails is if you're looking directly at them. They seem to disappear when you move your view slightly away from them.
Nightwolf Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 They also flash in and out at distance depending on your zoom level. I've had trouble finding other aircrafts' contrails by just looking around, but when I zoom in even just a little but, suddenly the contrail just appears. I think it might be a problem with view distance? "Fighter pilots have ice in their veins. They don't have emotions. They think, anticipate. They know that fear and other concerns cloud your mind from what's going on and what you should be involved in." -Buzz Aldrin
aceofspades9963 Posted April 26, 2018 Posted April 26, 2018 Also had a 27et fired at me last night with no smoke trail , quite vexing.
