Hi, I'm thinking of getting the Thrustmaster Replica U.S Air Force MFD Cougar Flight Panel Duo Pack.

I've started flying the Harrier, soon we'll have the Hornet. Of course there's the A-10.

I'm really running out of button, so I've been thinking of getting them, as using those MFD with the mouse is a bit too awkward.

My only gripe with the Cougar MFD's is that, they look like they are the size of the real life unit's and they might take up too much space. And it looks like they don't have real screens, only print out's. So having them that big isn't really necessary.

Would you recommend them? Do they make a different when flying?

Are there any alternatives? I did look into making an external controller using this tutorial http://www.instructables.com/id/Lets-make-a-game-controller/, but, I'd need more button.

Anyone got any advice?

Thanks

I HIGHLY recommend them. They make utilizing all the mfcd functions soo much better. Most people use a second monitor to mount them on and export the mfcd display to show behind the frame (super simple to do), they do not come with a screen. Again, highly encourage you to consider them especially with all the aircraft mfd-dependant.
