DCS should try to update at least once a day when you start it, if not

 

goto your windows start menu find eagle dynamics and the open beta, you should see update open beta shortcut.

 

or you can use a command prompt to update

The updater works fine.

It just hasn't asked me to merge the versions?

 

so by that I mean It hasn't suggested that the open beta can merged into 2.5 to make just one DCS world?
